WHERE IS THE CLASS HELD?
The class is held in the privacy of YOUR own home and takes approximately 2 hours. Classes can also be held in a northern beaches facility on request.
ABOUT THE CLASS.
The concept for "in your home" classes was developed as many couples are unable to get time off for weekly prenatal classes. Also catering for couples who don't like large groups. The class offers you and your birthing partner a concise, streamlined, tailor-made class that covers all relevant information. All birth outcomes are discussed for example, natural birth, water emersion, and emergency caesarean sections.
THE CLASS COVERS:
Signs of labour, pain relief options, birth, newborn care, breastfeeding, expressing, lactation, nappy changing, wrapping, settling, SIDs prevention and advice, and nursery advice. The class also includes an option for postnatal home visit. This visit is for help or support with baby bathing, settling, wrapping etc. This is valid within the first two weeks you are home with your baby.
WHO IS THE CLASS GIVEN BY?
The class is run by a fully qualified, practicing midwife. Pam has worked locally on the northern beaches caring for new mothers and babies for over 20 years. Pam has 3 adult children of her own and has supported both daughters during the birth of her 4 grandchildren.
Pam regularly attends birthing and breastfeeding conferences and is current in her midwifery practice. Pam offers a contemporary class that is customised to the couple.
Pregnancy can be stressful, Pam keeps the class informal, light hearted while still delivering the critical information.
